Most people know they should sleep better. Far fewer know why specific things work — and without the why, the habits don't stick.

Our mission

SleepDepth publishes evidence-based guides on sleep science, stress management, and mental wellness — written for real people, not medical professionals. Every article explains not just what to do, but why it works at a biological level.

We believe understanding the mechanism behind a habit makes it far more likely to stick. Knowing that a consistent wake time anchors your circadian rhythm is more motivating than just being told to "keep a regular schedule."

How we approach content

Every article on SleepDepth is grounded in peer-reviewed research. We cite specific studies where relevant, and we try to accurately represent what the evidence actually shows — including its limitations.

We distinguish between strong evidence (multiple RCTs, meta-analyses, consistent replication) and weaker evidence (single studies, mechanistic plausibility, anecdote). When something is uncertain or contested, we say so.

Our tools

The calculators and quizzes on SleepDepth are designed to help you understand your own patterns — not to diagnose anything. The Sleep Debt Calculator, Sleep Quality Quiz, and Stress Score are starting points for self-reflection, not medical assessments.

All tool responses are processed locally in your browser. We don't store your answers or any personally identifiable information.
